Extension of the Aircraft Parking at Sfax-Thyna Aerodrome

Project consisting of the extension of the aircraft parking at Sfax-Thyna aerodrome, aimed at increasing its capacity and optimizing aircraft circulation. The extension also includes the creation of an access road connecting the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (SSLIA) to the runway, measuring 186 meters long and 10 meters wide.

Scope of work:
  • Extension area: 31,000 m²
  • Milling and demolition of existing structures.
  • Installation of foundation structures for new aeronautical pavements and access road.
  • Execution of rigid concrete pavement using the slipform technique for laying cement base, surface concrete, and transition slabs.
  • Creation of necessary expansion and contraction joints.
Project specifics:
  • Aeronautical standards: Works must comply with airport infrastructure norms and regulations regarding safety, sizing, and material quality.
  • Rigid concrete pavement: Use of the slipform technique ensures a durable surface resistant to heavy aircraft loads.
